About Me

I have been pondering social, political, and cultural trends for a long time, and have decided to share my observations with this blog. I grew up in Westchester County, just north of New York City, where I still reside. The son of an academic, I traveled widely as a child, which produced a life-long appreciation for various cultures and traditions, as well as inculcating a love of travel itself.

My academic concentrations were history, political science, and musicology. I spent my professional career, however, in market research, working on both the supplier and client sides of the business, and also serving as an officer of a global market research professional association.

I try to take an objective, rational, and logical approach in my thinking, while adhering to a basic belief in fundamental human rights and dignity. I prefer to avoid labels, but admit to being a passionate supporter of social civility, the separation of church and state, and the right of free expression.

This blog will address a broad range of topics of personal interest, as well as offering occasional humorous contributions, including the odd parody of well-known songs.
